I’m 15 days in! Starting to celebrate the little wins! I know it’s only day 15 and I’m (doing the math) only 20% through, but still celebrating. I think that is what I have been having an epiphany about. I’ve never really celebrated anything in my life. I try and celebrate the Marine Corps Birthday every year, but that is about it. I need to stop and smell the roses about all the little things and have that couple second party by myself about tons of little things. So I’m jumping up and down excited about celebrating 15 days (20%) through this crazy challenge.
I’m hoping I can model this to my kid. He has a real problem with enjoying anything in the moment always looking forward to the negative thing that will happen next, even if that is just leaving the place we are celebrating at. The life lessons we learn from our parents aren’t always the best, so I’m working on doing better for myself and my kid.
You know it’s amazing that I’m learning to do these things better and improving myself and it looks like it will improve the people around me. I become better and so do they! Incredible!
Water is going easy, but I did change one thing. I started having my Monster Energy drink in the morning. I really enjoy drinking it while reading my book in the morning. To get that done without distractions (i.e. my kid) I’ve decided to get up a half hour earlier. He gets up at six, so I will get up at 5:30. No problem… I hope.
Food was easy yesterday and today. Had my morning protein shake and that was easy.
Just finished my first workout, a walk in the park, literally. I enjoyed it. I went with the wife, kid, and the dog. Dogs are funny, he keeps getting more and more excited everyday we go. I thought he would calm down, but it hasn’t happened yet.
Yes life is good and I am starting to enjoy the challenge. Looking forward things will be a little harder next week, but I will continue the 75 Hard Challenge on the road for work with my diet, morning walk, evening gym workout all scheduled into my day.
