Day 41 of 75 Hard

Day 41 is over half way! Yeah me! Okay, celebration over, and now time to keep working.

When I started this site, I was thinking this would be an everyday journal for me, and hopefully some other people would enjoy it, learn from it, and get working on the 75 Hard Challenge. But life got in the way. Something had to give with special projects at work and still trying to be a father and a husband (two things I strive to be great at in my life). Now it seems I will get as many posts up as I can and hopefully help some people along the way.

This week has been going well. I got all my workouts in, but the weekends seem to be hard to get to the gym like I want to, so I normally end up walking again. Saturday (2 days ago) had to wait until my wife got home from work so I could go to the gym. By the time I got there it was closed, so I went home and went for a walk at 9pm. Sunday, I suddenly unexpected time with just me and the wife. The kid ended up staying with friends. We went shopping and out to dinner, and then walked around the outdoor mall for 45 minutes to get my second workout in. We actually made good time and went faster then I normally do. So it ended up being good.

Water has been getting easy. It’s getting hotter here in South Texas and the heat makes you sweat and I just want to drink more and more water. So I’ve been drinking my gallon that I have measured out plus another couple cups of water somewhere in the day.

Pictures are on autopilot. After every workout I take a selfie in the mirror, so I generally have two pictures a day (that way I can’t miss).

Weight is still not going down, which pisses me off! But it’s not about losing weight, this program is about gaining self discipline and grit!

My diet is getting easy. I no longer crave sugar, so I’m hoping I have my handle on that. Last night my wife and I stopped to get a red box movie, and normally we would have picked up ice cream to go with it, but we refrained. I wouldn’t have done it, but me not getting the horrible food actually set the example for my wife and she didn’t get any either. I’m hoping the more we go the more the kid will pickup some more good habits from us. He sure sees my bad habits and actually likes to through it back at me even at 9. <font = sarcasm> Can’t wait until he is a teenager! </font>

Reading is also going well and I am going to keep the reading part for the rest of my life. I’m almost done with my second book of the challenge and am going through books faster then I have in the past years. That I’m really enjoying. It’s been on my list for years to read more books, now I’m actually doing it.

I keep pushing forward and moving through the grind part of this challenge looking at the finish.

75 Hard I will Conquer,
