Today was easy, too easy. I didn’t do as much as I could have.
I had planned for a long driving day at work but since my truck was in the shop I was stuck at home. So I did admin work… it was slow and painful because there wasn’t a lot of it.
I know it’s Parkinson’s Law; work expands to fill the time available for its completion. Today I just proved that law again. I could have gotten everything cleaned up with a bow on it in about six hours, instead it took me about nine.
But I did have a relaxing day. I went to dinner with the family, helped my wife with Halloween costumes (I’m going as Buddy the Elf, and she is going as his girl, Jovi). It should be a great costume party and I’ve been working on my Elf lines (Buddy the Elf, What’s your favorite color?).
I started late on the challenge and didn’t get finished until late tonight with a walk around the neighborhood. But loved doing it with my wife even though she is not crazy about the cold. It’s a good way for us to get away from the kid’s spying ears. He remembers everything I don’t tell him and forgets everything I try and tell him to do. I know, normal kid, but very aggravating.
I’ll finish up some water and head to bed. Tomorrow is Halloween and I’m planning on working a half day and then going to a party.
I’ll still do my 75 Hard before I go. I started power lifting again yesterday and really like doing big weights. Tomorrow I’ll be back into the gym to hit the heavy weights again! It’s the simple things in life that I’m starting to enjoy more.
This challenge makes me look forward to moving forward in any area of my life. If I can see growth it makes me want to push forward. With my power lifting workout, Starting Strength, I just add 5 pounds to every workout. Easy to see the progress.
How about you? Can you do the 75 Hard? Can you do anything everyday without fail for 75 days?
