Day 49 of 75 Hard Round 3

Another day in the bag. It was a rather easy day.

I got the water done, the workout done, planned the day, posted 2 social media posts and am doing the post to close out my day early.

It is the Sunday of time change so that makes it easier to get things done earlier. I’m thankful for that, because I got a lot done.

I was able to be in Houston for work and meet all the new hires that are coming on with my real job. I got to spend time with them and make connections plus do a lot of work for my personal stuff and my real job while I was hanging out with them in class.

I left a little early and went to the gym and still made it back in time to have dinner with a co worker.

We have all sorts of issues at work and have an all new management team that is trying to work the problems. I’m thinking of pulling Extreme Ownership by Jocok Willink on some of the problems and just jumping head long into them and see if I can get them solved.

I have a lot of latitude in what I can do at work on. I’m part of the HR department and part of Operations. I do about 50/50 on both hats but I can push on one more then the other. I’m thinking about tackling some of our leadership problems in the company by teaching leaders to lead better and putting proposals out to see if I can start changing things and fixing problems.

I started by giving my co worker that book. She is having difficulty with a person that is under her. But she wants to take on more leadership then just the one person that reports to her right now. So I gave her the suggestion and a couple pointers from the book to help her go the right direction. I hope it works.

If you want to learn leadership done right, Extreme Ownership is the place to start. It should be mandatory reading for anyone that wants to exceed anywhere in life. That’s hard for me to say since the author is a Navy Seal and I’m a Marine, so we are always fighting over who is better (Marines are in case you were wondering).

I’m excited to take on more things and be better. This challenge is helping me. I learn things every day that could push my life up and make me better. Lots of them are lessons I already learned other times in my life but haven’t been using. What good is something you know if you don’t use it?

How about you? Are you ready for this challenge? Can you learn something new? Do you want to make all those lessons over your life mean something to you?

Get on this challenge and it will make you better.
