Day 8 of 75

I’m over 10% there… sort of. I like to think of it that way. Now I’m on the down slide! Well not yet.

Days come in and throw you curve balls. I just finished my first workout of the day when the VP of the company called. He never calls me. So he had my attention and of course needed things from me. So I spent most of the day creating a report for him to present to the President, Board of Directors, and probably a couple investors next week.

So it was time well spent, but he really needed it done. So I put my head down and worked on that. Got it done just in time for my second workout. Went to the gym and did okay.

After that, it was dinner with the family and back to the office to try and get some work done that should have been done all day today (including this post). I got what needed to be done, done.

Water was a force feeding for me today. I didn’t really drink water most of the day while working on my report for the boss, so by the second workout time I was way behind. But before I went to the gym I chugged about 40 ounces of water and refilled my jug to get the second one in. I just stopped to finish off my gallon of water!

The picture will be next thing tonight. I haven’t even taken a shower today I’ve been so busy. So I’ll do that a little later.

On the plus side, being this busy I haven’t even thought about food, so the diet was really easy today. And I’m super happy about that. I think with this diet and 75 days I’ll be able to break my addiction to sugar. I had to throw some away yesterday after my wife brought Skiddles in the house. No I don’t want to taste the rainbow.

I described the candy like crack, and I’m a crack addict that is trying to break the habit. And I think she finally got it. For some reason she can have that stuff in the house and just eat a couple a day for the next month. Once I open the bag it will be gone. Unfortunately my 9 year old son is the same way I am and already addicted to sugar. He is doing part of the diet with me and breaking his addiction to the evil white powder too. I’m double excited about that.

My body still hurts a little but I’m doing well. Tomorrow will be a little test. I’ll be doing a walk in the morning, going to the field all day and then coming home. It will be the first day I’m out of the house and my office during the challenge. But I have a plan. All beef sticks for snacks, and already found a place that does chicken and vegetables on the way to stop for lunch on the way out, and dinner on the way back. There will be no slacking on the diet. I will bring a bunch of beef sticks and buy some nuts to chew on to make it through the day.

Are you ready to start? I heard from a reader that him and some of his mates are going to start on April 1. You should start with them and we will continue this journey towards betterment together.
